migration 2
Over the past 2 days we talked about migration and the different types. Migration is a permanent move to a new location. There is emigration which is the move from a location and immigration which is the move to a new location. The difference between the number of immigrants and the number of emigrants is net migration.
Migration can be divided into 2 categories: international migration and internal migration. International migration is moving from one country to another. International migration can either be forced or voluntary. Internal migration is moving from a place in one country to a new place in the same country. Internal migration can be interregional or intraregional.
Migrants usually move from a developing country to a country that is developed or more developed than their original country. People migrate because of push and pull factors. A pull factor is something that induce people to move to a new location and a push factor is something that induces people to leave their current location. The three major types of push and pull factors are political, environmental and economical.
